- Self awareness in SEL is about understanding my own emotions, strengths, and reactions, and I can reflect on this by recognizing how my tone and responses affect students, then use that awareness in subbing to stay calm, intentional, and supportive in all classroom situations.
- Self regulation in SEL is about managing my emotions, behaviors, and reactions, and I can reflect on this by noticing how I respond under stress and then use it in subbing to stay patient, calm, and consistent while helping students refocus and follow expectations.
- Relationship management in SEL is about building positive connections and communicating effectively with others, and I can reflect on this by thinking about how I interact with students and staff, then use it in subbing by building quick relationships, using respectful communication, and creating a supportive classroom environment.
- Responsible decision making in SEL is about making thoughtful, safe, and respectful choices by considering consequences and others well being, and I can reflect on this by thinking about how my decisions impact the classroom, then use it in subbing by choosing responses that are fair, calm, and support a positive learning environment.
- Social awareness in SEL is about understanding and respecting others feelings, perspectives, and differences, and I can reflect on this by thinking about how students may experience situations differently than I do, then use it in subbing by showing empathy, being patient, and supporting an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
