104 Academic Intervention – S3 Tier 3
Tier 3 is intensive intervention. These are the few really almost one on one guidance with a student who could potentially have a lot of data about their learning already. Tier 3 is where it is so imperative to have a learning relationship with your designated student. It increases students effort as well as ability to try harder things and take risks knowing they wont be judged.
The biggest takeaway I got from this portion is really how day to day planned based tier 3 is. You have to be able to adapt as well as compare data to create a plan for the student based on the type of student they are so they can succeed. The trick is really trying to find or create that sweet spot of materials and skills they know and have confidence in and then what’s challenging to them.
It is a group effort town to the parents involvement as the goal is to accelerate this student to get them back to the classes confidently. Something I’ve learned is reaching out to mentor teachers or always be willing to expand your knowledge to what could work for a student you maybe haven’t thought abput before!
