  Managing students starts with clear communication. It is important to use classroom data to help decide which students need extra support. When working with Tier 2 students, instructions need to be clear and specific. Start by building their confidence with things they already know, then slowly build on those skills. Taking the time to explain the objectives and learning targets helps students understand what they are working toward and what is expected of them.
